Spanish-Style Rice with Onions, Tomatoes, and Celery

Recipe Ingredients for Spanish Rice

1 1/2 tbsp olive oil
1 onion, chopped
2 stalks celery, chopped
1 clove garlic, minced
1/2 tsp. basil
20 1/2 oz tomatoes, diced
8 oz tomato sauce
1 cup water
1 cup rice

Recipe Directions for Spanish Rice

  1. Saute onions, celery & garlic until soft.

  2. Add tomatoes, sauce, water & basil, bring to boil and simmer 5 minutes.

  3. Stir in rice and simmer covered until rice is cooked and most of the liquid is absorbed (about 20 minutes.)
