my version of the greek tradition

Recipe Ingredients for Spanakopita

454 grams phyllo pastry
2250 grams spinach
325 grams feta cheese
1/4 cup pine nuts
3 large eggs
3/4 cup butter
1 cup chopped mushrooms
4 medium onions, chopped
2 tsp cumin
2 tsp nutmeg
2 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Spanakopita

  1. mix filling together

  2. layer six layers of phyllo with butter between every other layer

  3. use 1/3 of filling per six layers of pastry

  4. roll like a jelly roll

  5. bake at 375 for 30-45 min
