A veggierrific way to boost your boring pasta sauce

Recipe Ingredients for Spaghetti and veggie sauce

1/2 onion
1/2 green pepper
6 large mushrooms
1 tsp minced garlic
1 pinch oregano
1 pinch black pepper
1 pinch chili pepper
1 pinch basil
1/2 cup pasta sauce
140 g whole wheat pasta, cooked
1/2 cup salsa
1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese
1 tbsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Spaghetti and veggie sauce

Get the pasta water boiling. In the meantime, heat up the olive oil in a pot on medium heat. Cook the onion, garlic, and mushrooms while stirring frequently. Add the pasta to the water. Add the peppers (and any other veggies you like) to the onion mixture. When the veggies are a bit soft, add the pasta sauce and the salsa and the spices. Simmer on low heat until the pasta is done cooking. Serve with grated cheddar on top!
