Recipe Ingredients for Spaghetti Sauce

164 grams chopped onion
92 grams chopped green sweet pepper
78 grams chopped celery
1/2 tsp garlic powder
30 oz Hunt's diced tomatoes
30 oz Hunt's tomato sauce
12 oz Hunt's tomato paste
4 tsp dried parsley
2 tsp dried basil
2 tsp dried oregano
1 tsp dried marjoram
2 tsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1/2 tsp
536 grams hamburger 93% lean

Recipe Directions for Spaghetti Sauce

  1. In a large saucepan or Dutch oven cook 16 ounces of ground beef with the onion, sweet pepper, celery and garlic powder until meat is brown.

  2. Drain.

  3. Stir in 1/3 cup water, diced tomatoes, tomato sauce, tomato paste, parsley, dried herbs, sugar, salt, and black pepper.

  4. Bring to boiling, reduce heat.

  5. Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes.

  6. Uncover, simmer for 10 to 15 minutes or to desired consistency, stirring occasionally.

  7. Meanwhile cook pasta according to package directions.

  8. Serve sauce over hot cooked pasta.

  9. If desired sprinkle with Parmesan cheese.
