Recipe Ingredients for Spaghetti Pie

4 oz dry Whole Wheat Spaghetti
1 tbsp Butter
1 large Egg, Whole
25 grams Parmesan, Grated Cheese
11.852 oz Sausage, Italian, Sweet, Links
1 medium (2-1/2" dia) Onions
8 oz Tomato Sauce
1 tablespoon Oregano
1 clove Garlic
1 cup Fat Free Ricotta
0.5 cup Fat Free Cheese

Recipe Directions for Spaghetti Pie

  1. Cook spaghetti according to package directions; drain. Return spaghetti to hot saucepan and keep warm.

  2. Stir butter into hot pasta until melted. Stir in egg and Parmesan cheese; set aside.

  3. Meanwhile, in a medium skillet cook Italian sausage, onion, and garlic over medium heat until meat is brown and onion is tender. Drain off fat. Stir in tomato sauce and oregano; heat through.

  4. Coat a 9-inch pie plate with nonstick cooking spray. Press spaghetti mixture onto bottom and up sides of pie plate, forming a crust. Spread ricotta on the bottom and up the sides of the pasta crust. Spread meat mixture over ricotta. Sprinkle with mozzarella cheese.

  5. Bake in a 350 degree oven for 20-25 minutes or until bubbly and heated through. To serve, cut into six wedges.
