Italian style meatballs have a cheezy lasagna type flavor without all the work. Bake the meatballs while preparing the pasta and sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Spaghetti and Cheezy Lasagna-Balls

1 lb Ground Beef
1 T Olive Oil
1 t Paprika
2 T Oregano
3 T Garlic (minced)
1/2 Green Pepper
1/2 Onion (medium, yellow, diced)
1 c Mushroom
1 c Celery
4 oz (3/4 c) Cheez It (Reduced Fat)
1/2 c Cottage Cheese 1%
3 c Pasta Sauce (Fat Free)
15 oz Tomato Sauce
6 c Cooked Spaghetti Noodle

Recipe Directions for Spaghetti and Cheezy Lasagna-Balls

  1. Dice Onion, Pepper, Celery and Mushroom and mix together.

  2. In large mixing bowl, mix Ground Beef, Olive Oil, Spices, 2 T Garlic, half of the diced Vegetable Mix, crushed Cheez It and Cottage Cheese. Mix with hands like a meatloaf. Roll into meatballs and bake at 350 for 20 minutes. (Makes 48 meatballs)

  3. Pour Pasta Sauce and Tomato Sauce into medium sauce pan. Add the rest of the Vegetable Mix, 1T Oregano and 1T Minced Garlic. Cook over medium heat stirring occasionally while the meatballs cook.

  4. Bring noodles to a boil and cook an additional 7 minutes.

  5. Place 6 meatballs on top of 3/4 cup noodles. Cover with 2/3 cup of sauce.

  6. Enjoy!
