Nice sized, low calorie veggie burgers. Have lots of flavor. They don't 'stick' very well, so when grilling you will need to put them on tin foil sprayed with non-stick spray. Can substitute 8 oz ground turkey for the kidney beans.

Recipe Ingredients for Southwestern Turkey Veggie Burgers

8 oz ground turkey
1/2 cup kidney beans, drained & ground
1/3 of a red bell pepper, diced small
1/3 of a green bell pepper, diced small
1/3 of a yellow bell pepper, diced small
1/2 of a small onion, diced small
5 medium button mushroom, diced small
1 egg white
1/4 cup quick oats
1 tsp chili powder
1/4 tsp red pepper flakes (or to taste)
1/2 tsp cumin
1 tsp dried cilantro

Recipe Directions for Southwestern Turkey Veggie Burgers

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Put all ingredients in a bowl and combine with hands. Form the mixture into 4 equal sized patties approximately 4 ounces each.

  3. Put in pan sprayed with Pam and cook for 30 minutes or until burgers are browned.
