I'm not recommending this for dieters (unless you're looking for a quick way to get the calorie count up), but I needed to know the nutrition facts because my husband demands one every Christmas.

Recipe Ingredients for Southern Pecan Pie

3 eggs
1 cup dark corn syrup
1/4 cup butter
1/3 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
2 cups pecan halves
1 pie crust, standard-type

Recipe Directions for Southern Pecan Pie

  1. Line a 9" pie pan with a regular crust (I use the Pillsbury rolled crust, in the refrigerator case).

  2. Toast the pecans in a 350-degree oven for a few minutes. Watch carefully so they don't burn. Cool them.

  3. Melt the butter and add the sugar, salt and syrup. Beat the eggs and then add to the mixture. Stir in the pecans and pour the mixture into the pie shell. Bake at 350 for about 50 minutes, or until a knife inserted into the pie comes out clean.

  4. Note that the nutrition facts assume 10 pieces in the pie. You can cut it into even smaller wedges if you like (it's very rich). Or you can bake it in a square pan and cut it into even smaller squares.
