Recipe Ingredients for Southern Living Oatmeal-raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies

3/4 cup Crisco, butter flavor
1 T water
3/4 cup sugar
3/4 cup dark brown sugar, packed
2 large eggs
1 1/2 t vanilla
2 c flour
1 c quick cooking oats, uncooked
1 t baking soda
1/4 t salt
12 oz semisweet chocolate chips
1 cup raisins

Recipe Directions for Southern Living Oatmeal-raisin Chocolate Chip Cookies

  1. NOte: The Crisco is a sub for butter. Follow the can for adding water directions for sub. This is how the lady that gave me the recipe makes then and they were bar none, the best cookies I ever had. For reg. choc. chip, skip the oatmeal and use 2.25C + 2T flour.

  2. Preheat over to 350 degrees.

  3. Beat Crisco & sugars til creamy. Add eggs & vanilla, mix to blend.

  4. Combine flour, oats, soda and salt; grad. add to sugar mixture; beating well. Stir in morsels & raisins.

  5. Drop by tbsps onto lightly greased baking sheets.

  6. Bake 8' for chewy, Up to 14' for crispy cookies.
