Recipe Ingredients for Southern ham stew

9 ounces black eye peas, dry
4 cups water
2 cups ham, cubed
15 ounce Hominy
10 ounce okra, sliced, frozen
4 cloves garlic, minced
2 tsp cajun seasoning
4 cups spinach, raw
14 ounce tomatoes, canned, diced

Recipe Directions for Southern ham stew

  1. rinse peas and drain, cover with 4 cups of water and bring toa boil then simmer for 10 minutes. Dran and rinse

  2. in a 4 qt crock pot combine everything except the tomatoes and spinach

  3. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours o high 4-5 hours. Turn to high and add the tomatoes and the spinach and cook for 10 minutes covered. Ladle into bowl
