Recipe Ingredients for Southern Collard Greens

4 cups collard greens - rinsed, trimmed and chopped
1 lb smoked ham hocks
21 ounce condensed chicken broth
21 fluid ounces water
1 tablespoon distilled white vinegar
1 salt and pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Southern Collard Greens

  1. Place the collard greens and ham hocks in a large pot. Mix in the chicken broth, water, and vinegar. Season with salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, reduce heat to low, and simmer 1 hour.

  2. Remove ham before serving, if you wish.
