Recipe Ingredients for Sourdough starter

1 cup water
2 cups flour
2 tablespoons yeast

Recipe Directions for Sourdough starter

When preparing new starter mix the old starter to recombine the liquid with the flour. Take one cup of old starter, mix with 2 cups flour and 1 cup water in a glass or ceramic non-reacting bowl. Cover with saran wrap, place in a warm non-drafty location (70 to 80 degrees F) and let rest overnight. Discard the remaining old starter. The next morning remove 1 cup of starter for use in the recipe you are preparing and store the remaining starter in a clean, air tight, non-reactive container in the refrigerator.
