Recipe Ingredients for Sour Milk Waffles

2 eggs, separated
2 cups skim milk, soured
2 tbsp white vinegar
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 tbsp sugar
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1/2 cup butter, melted

Recipe Directions for Sour Milk Waffles

  1. Sour the milk by adding 1 tbsp white vinegar to every cup of milk, then stir and let stand for 10 minutes.

  2. Put the egg yolks in a mixing bowl and beat well.

  3. Stir the sour milk.

  4. In another bowl, put the flour, sugar, salt, and baking soda and stir with a fork until well mixed. Add the flour mixture to the yolk mixture and beat until smooth. Stir in the melted butter and mix until well blended.

  5. Beat the egg whites until stiff but still moist. Gently fold the whites into the batter.

  6. Use hot waffle iron to cook waffles.
