Recipe Ingredients for Sour Cream & Walnut Coffee Cake

2 cps sugar
2 tsp cinnamon
3/4 cup walnuts, chopped
3/4 cup shortening
1 tsp vanilla
3 eggs
1 1/2 cups sour cream
3 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp baking powder

Recipe Directions for Sour Cream & Walnut Coffee Cake

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and lightly flour angel food pan.

  2. Combine 3/4 cup sugar, walnuts and cinnamon in small bowl and set aside.

  3. Cream together vanilla, shortening and remaining sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.

  4. Add in the baking soda, salt and baking powder, mix thoroughly.

  5. Add the flour and sour cream a little at a time, alternating and beating well after each addition.

  6. Bake in 350 degrees oven for 60-65 minutes or until toothpick comes out clean.
