Good bread, especially if you're using freshly ground wheat flour. It's very filling.

Recipe Ingredients for Soft Wheat Oatmeal Bread

1 1/4 cups water (70 to 80 degrees)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1/4 cup maple syrup
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup brown sugar
2 tsp salt
3 cups wheat flour
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
1/8 cup sunflower seeds
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Recipe Directions for Soft Wheat Oatmeal Bread

  1. Directions

  2. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.

  3. Select basic bread setting.

  4. Choose crust color and loaf size if available.

  5. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).

  6. For softer bread, omit 1/2 cup of flour, but be careful because it is much stickier if you are baking it in your own loaf pan.
