This moist and tender loaf will complement most any meal. I like to make just the dough in the bread maker and then bake it into my own loaf or rolls.

Recipe Ingredients for Soft Oatmeal Bread

1 1/2 cups water (70 to 80 degrees)
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tsp lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
3 cups all-purpose flour
1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
2 1/2 tsp active dry yeast

Recipe Directions for Soft Oatmeal Bread

  1. In bread machine pan, place all ingredients in order suggested by manufacturer.

  2. Select basic bread setting.

  3. Choose crust color and loaf size if available.

  4. Bake according to bread machine directions (check dough after 5 minutes of mixing; add 1 to 2 tablespoons of water or flour if needed).

  5. For softer bread, omit 1/2 cup of flour, but be careful because it is much stickier if you are baking it in your own loaf pan.
