30 grams vital wheat gluten= 1/4 cup... These hamburger buns are amazing! I decided to make homemade buns and found this recipe. I am hooked! Will never buy store bough buns

Recipe Ingredients for Soft N Fluffy Hamburger Buns

1 cup warm water
2 tablespoons olive oil
3 cups whole wheat flour
1 tablespoon white sugar
3/4 teaspoon salt
30 grams vital wheat gluten
2 1/4 teaspoons yeast

Recipe Directions for Soft N Fluffy Hamburger Buns

  1. In a large bowl mix together water, oil sugar and salt. Then add the 2 cups of flour, wheat gluten and yeast. Mix until dough just comes together.

  2. Turn out dough on a floured surface. Knead dough for 2 to 3 mins adding the extra flour as needed. You want a "bouncy" and shiny dough. When you put a finger indention in your dough and it stays, you have kneaded it long enough.

  3. Cut dough into 12 equal pieces. Roll the dough into balls until the surface of the dough is very silky. Place the dough balls on a lightly oiled surface and flatten dough into bun shapes, gently. Cover with a cloth and let rise until doubled, 30-45 mins.

  4. Preheat oven to 350 F

  5. Put rolls on a baking sheet next to one another but NOT touching. That way when they bake in the oven they will end up touching each other and rising even more.

  6. Bake until tops are golden brown, about 12 mins. They will seem dry to the touch. Let cool on rack until slicing.

  7. Enjoy with hamburger, turkey burgers, pulled pork, etc.
