I haven't actually tried this myself, but I found it on a website and I am anxious to try it. It said that it promises soft bread with a flaky crust. Since you put the yeast directly in the liquid, I wouldn't use this recipe unless you plan on starting the bread machine right away. Also, this recipe is for a 1-1/2 lbs loaf.

Recipe Ingredients for Soft, Flaky Bread Machine Bread

1 cup warm water (110 degrees F/45 degrees C)
2 tablespoons white sugar
1/4 ounce bread machine yeast
1/4 cup vegetable oil
3 cups bread flour
1 teaspoon salt

Recipe Directions for Soft, Flaky Bread Machine Bread

  1. Place the water, sugar and yeast in the pan of the bread machine.

  2. Let the yeast dissolve and foam for 10 minutes.

  3. Add the oil, flour and salt to the yeast.

  4. Select Basic or White Bread setting, and press Start.
