I found this recipe on allrecipes.com while looking for something to make for my daughter-in-law who is from Singapore. I did not have any sesame oil so I substituted olive oil and added sesame seeds. She really liked it (or at least she said she did!)

Recipe Ingredients for Snow Peas Oriental

1 t soy sauce
1 t corn starch
1 t sesame oil
1/2 lb snow peas
1/2 c carrots
1/2 c chicken broth

Recipe Directions for Snow Peas Oriental

  1. Whisk together the soy sauce and cornstarch in a bowl until cornstarch is completely dissolved; set aside.

  2. Prepare a skillet with cooking spray and place over medium heat; drizzle in the sesame oil. Place the snow peas and carrots in the skillet; cook and stir for 2 minutes. Pour the broth over the vegetables. Bring to a boil, cover and reduce heat to low; simmer until vegetables are slightly softened, about 5 minutes. Stir in the soy sauce mixture; continue to cook until the sauce has thickened.
