Recipe Ingredients for Snickerdoodles

3 cups flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1 cup butter
1 1/4 cups sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs
3 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Snickerdoodles

  1. Preheat the oven to 375.

  2. Sift the flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt together.

  3. Cream the butter and 1-1/4 cups of sugar.

  4. Beat in vanilla, then eggs, one at a time.

  5. Mix in flour.

  6. In small bowl, combine the 3 tbsp. sugar and the cinnamon.

  7. Shape dough into 1-1/2" balls - roll in the cinnamon sugar.

  8. Place balls 2" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Bake 11 - 13 minutes.

  9. Cool for a couple minutes on the sheets, then transfer to cooling racks.
