Recipe Ingredients for Snickerdoodles

2 lb unsalted butter
48 oz sugar
8 eggs
44 oz flour
8 tsp cream of tartar
4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp salt
16 oz sugar
10 tbsp cinnamon

Recipe Directions for Snickerdoodles

  1. Cream margarine/butter and sugar on medium speed for 5 minutes, using flat beater.

  2. Add eggs to creamed mixture. Mix thoroughly.

  3. Mix dry ingredients. Add to creamed mixture.

  4. Mix on low speed until well-blended.

  5. Combine sugar and cinnamon.

  6. Portion dough with No. 40 dipper.

  7. Roll in sugar-cinnamon mixture.

  8. Place 3X5 onto lightly greased or parchment-paper-lined 18X26 inch baking sheets.

  9. Bake at 375F for 8-10 minutes or until lightly browned but still soft. These cookies puff up at first, then flatten out with crinkleld tops.
