A slow cooked style take on salisbury steak with cream of mushroom soup that serves as a base for the gravy. You can substitute water for the beef broth to cut down on the sodium if you'd like.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

1 pound lean ground beef
1/2 onion (sliced)
1/2 cup mushrooms
1/4 cup Seasoned Bread Crumbs, Italian Style
1/8 teaspoon rosemary
1/8 teaspoon thyme
1/8 teaspoon pepper
2 tablespoons milk
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 tablespoon olive oil
10 3/4 ounce condensed cream of mushroom soup
1/4 cup beef broth
2 tablespoons beef broth

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooker Salisbury Steak

  1. In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, seasonings, bread crumbs, and milk using your hands. Shape into 4 patties.

  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Dredge the patties in flour just to coat, and quickly brown on both sides in the hot skillet. Place browned patties into the slow cooker stacking alternately like a pyramid.

  3. In a medium bowl, mix together the cream of mushroom soup, onions, mushrooms and beef broth. Pour over the meat. Cook on the Low setting for 3 or 4 hours, until ground beef is well done.
