Recipe Ingredients for Slow-cooker Greek Beef Stew with Onions and Feta

1 tablespoon vegetable oil
2 1/4 pounds stewing beef, cut into 1" cubes
3 onions, large, chopped finely
4 garlic cloves, finely chopped
1 tsp cinnamon
1/2 tsp allspice
4 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 tbsp,+crumbled bay leaves
1 tsp sugar
1 1/2 cups tomato sauce, canned
1 cup feta cheese, non-fat

Recipe Directions for Slow-cooker Greek Beef Stew with Onions and Feta

  1. Brown meat in the skillet. Transfer to crockpot.

  2. Add chopped onions and garlic, saute until onions are soft. Add all remaining ingredients, except the feta, and combine. Place over the meat in crockpot.

  3. Cook for 8-10 hours on low or 4-5 hours on high.

  4. Add feta cheese and cook on high for 10 minutes.

  5. Spoon over macaroni, noodles, or mashed potatoes.
