Black Beans and Sausage - Serve over Rice

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooker Creole Black Beans and Sausage

2 lbs turkey Sausage
45 oz black beans
1 1/2 cup chopped onion
1 1/2 cup chopped celery
1 1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1 cup water
8 oz tomato sauce
4 cloves garlic
2 teaspoons dried thyme
1 teaspoon chicken bouillon
1 teaspoon white pepper
1/4 teaspoon cayenne pepper
2 bay leaves
6 cups whole grain rice

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooker Creole Black Beans and Sausage

  1. Brown and drain turkey sausage

  2. Rinse and drain beans

  3. Mix all ingredients except rice in slow cooker

  4. Cook on low for 6 hours

  5. Serve over 1/2 cup rice
