There is a chill outside and the leaves are swirling around. It is soup season! This is an easy-throw-together recipe and you can make all kinds of addditions or substitutions.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooker Chowder

1 pound ground turkey, browned and drained
5 potatoes, peeled and cubed
2 carrots, peeled and diced
1 small onion, chopped
1 tablespoon chopped garlic
16 ounce frozen corn
12 ounce fat free evaporated milk
2 cups chicken broth
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/8 teaspoon pepper
1/2 teaspoon thyme
1 pinch nutmeg
1 pinch chili powder, to taste
1 pinch Italian seasoning, to taste
1 pinch parsley, to taste
8 ounces shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooker Chowder

  1. Put all ingredients in slow cooker.

  2. cook on low 6-8 hours, medium 4-5 hours, high 2 hours.
