Delicious homemade bean recipe. Use either Great Northern or Navy Beans.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooker Boston Baked Bean

16 oz Beans Great Northern
8 oz chopped ham
1 onion, finely diced
3 tablespoons molasses
2 teaspoons salt
1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
1/4 teaspoon dry mustard
1/2 cup ketchup
1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup brown sugar

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooker Boston Baked Bean

  1. Soak beans overnight in cold water. .

  2. Arrange the beans in a crock pot and mix in ham, onion, molasses, salt, pepper, dry mustard, ketchup, Worcestershire sauce and brown sugar.

  3. Pour in just enough water to almost cover the beans.

  4. Bake for 6 to 8 hours until beans are tender. Remove the lid about halfway through cooking, and add more liquid if necessary to prevent the beans from getting too dry.
