Don't heat up the whole house for baked beans--slow cook them! Get the same spicy brown sugar taste, and let your slow cooker take the heat.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooker Baked Beans

84 oz (3 cans) vegetarian baked beans, drained
1 medium onion, chopped
2/3 cup barbecue sauce
1/2 cup packed brown sugar
2 tablespoons ground mustard

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooker Baked Beans

  1. Mix all ingredients in 3 1/2- to 6-quart slow cooker.

  2. Cover and cook on low heat setting 4 to 5 hours (or high heat setting 2 hours to 2 hours 30 minutes) or until desired consistency.

  3. Note: This recipe was tested in slow cookers with heating elements in the side and bottom of the cooker, not in cookers that stand only on a heated base. For slow cookers with just a heated base, follow the manufacturer?s directions for layering ingredients and choosing a temperature.
