Recipe Ingredients for slow cooked tomato sauce

4 lbs tomatoes
1 large onion
10 cloves garlic
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
2 teaspoon oregano
2 tbsp basil
3 tablespoon olive oil

Recipe Directions for slow cooked tomato sauce

  1. slice onions and place on bottom of bakeing dish

  2. place sliced garlic on onions.

  3. clean and half tomatoes and place in dish.

  4. Add salt, pepper, oregano, basil and olive oil.

  5. cook at 350 for 1 hr. stir reduce heat to 300 and cook until liquid has evaporated. check every 30 min or so may take another couple hrs of cooking but longer cooking time will make the tomatoes sweeter

  6. use as is or blend to get smoother texture.

  7. use sauce over fish, or chicken when bakeing or on spagheetee
