Italian sausage and veggies in a nicely spiced tomato base.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow-cooked Spaghetti Sauce

1 1/2 lbs. bulk Italian sausage
29 ounces tomato sauce
28 ounces diced canned tomatoes
12 ounces tomato paste
1 large onion, chopped
1 large green pepper, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1 cup water
2 tsp brown sugar
2 tsps dried basil
1 tsp dried oregano
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/2 tsp dried thyme, crushed

Recipe Directions for Slow-cooked Spaghetti Sauce

Brown sausage, onion, green pepper, and garlic in a large non-stick skillet; stir to crumble meat. Drain well. Place in a 5-quart electric slow cooker. Add remaining ingredients. Cover; cook on high-heat setting 1 hour. Reduce to low-heat setting and cook 6 to 7 hours.
