This is my pulled pork recipe for pork butt slow cooked in a western NC type of BBQ sauce.

Recipe Ingredients for Slow Cooked Pulled Pork Sandwiches

1/4 cup brown sugar, packed
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
1/4 cup yellow mustard
2/3 cup ketchup
1 tbsp. freshly ground black pepper
1 tbsp. red pepper flakes
2 tbsp. salt
2 cups apple cider vinegar
1.33 cups water
2/3 cup white wine
1/2 tsp. liquid smoke
2 lb. pork butt
11 rolls

Recipe Directions for Slow Cooked Pulled Pork Sandwiches

  1. In a medium saucepan, bring to boil the first 11 ingredients (everything but the pork butt and rolls)

  2. Reduce heat and simmer for 30 minutes.

  3. Place pork butt in slow cooker.

  4. Add in bbq sauce to cover about 1/2 of the meat. (you can add more as desired).

  5. Cook for about 6 hours on high or until you can easily pull apart the meat.

  6. Shred meat.

  7. Add some more sauce and let soak overnight.

  8. Put on a bun and yum.
