Slow cooked, spicy pinto beans with ham

Recipe Ingredients for Slow cooked pinto beans with ham

1/2 pound dried pinto beans, sorted and washed
1 1/2 cups water
1 cup onion, chopped
5 ounces cooked ham, chopped
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 cup chopped green pepper
1/2 tablespoon chili powder
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/2 teaspoon pepper
1/4 teaspoon ground cumin
1/8 teaspoon dried oregano

Recipe Directions for Slow cooked pinto beans with ham

  1. Soak beans over night or quick soak according to package directions.

  2. Place all ingredients in slow cooker and cook on low for 9-10 hours.

  3. Serve with rice, salad, cornbread.
