Recipe Ingredients for Sloppy Joes

1 1/4 lb turkey breast, ground
1 large yellow onion, chopped
2 small carrots, grated
2 stalks celery, chopped
2 T garlic, minced
15 oz tomato sauce (organic)
1 can tomato paste (organic)
1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
2/3 cup brown sugar, packed

Recipe Directions for Sloppy Joes

  1. Cook the onions, carrots, and celery over medium heat until the onions caramelize. Add the garlic at the end, being careful not to let it burn.

  2. Add the ground turkey breast, breaking up into chunks. Brown the turkey.

  3. Add the tomato sauce and paste, apple cider vinegar and brown sugar. Add some water if it seems too thick. Simmer until the flavors meld.

  4. Serve on whole grain hamburger buns.
