Subs can be made. You can use extra lean ground beef. Low sodium soup as opposed to regular, and you can choose sharpness of cheese as well.

Recipe Ingredients for Sloppy Joe Casserole

1 lb ground turkey
1 can condensed tomato soup
1/4 cup water
1 tsp worcestershire sauce
7 1/2 oz of biscuits
1/2 cup shredded cheese

Recipe Directions for Sloppy Joe Casserole

  1. Preheat oven to 400F

  2. Cook the meat over med-high heat in 10" skillet. Pour off any fat.

  3. Stir in soup, water, worcestershire and black pepper into the skillet. Heat to a boil. Put meat into a 1 1/2 qt casserole. Arrange biscuits over meat mixture around edge of casserole.

  4. Bake for 15 minutes or until biscuits are golden brown. Sprinkle the cheese over the top.
