Recipe Ingredients for Sliced Baked Apples

2 apples
1/3 c. walnuts, chopped
1/4 c. 1% milk
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp light brown sugar
2 tsp white sugar
1 tbsp butter

Recipe Directions for Sliced Baked Apples

  1. spread chopped walnuts on a cookie sheet and toast in the oven for about five minutes

  2. core and slice apples thinly, put into a 2 quart oven safe bowl

  3. sprinkle brown and white sugar, nutmeg and cinnamon over the apples

  4. add in walnuts and mix well until apples and walnuts are evenly coated, then pour the milk over everything while mixing.

  5. cut butter into little dots and sprinkle over top of apple mix.

  6. cook in the oven at 375 f for 30 minutes, or until apples are soft. Enjoy with fat free ice cream and whipped cream!
