A different twist to a simple cabbage dish.

Recipe Ingredients for Slav Cabbage

750 g cabbage - raw
1 tablespoon butter
1 tablespoon lemon juice
2 g salt
2 g pepper

Recipe Directions for Slav Cabbage

  1. melt butter in large saucepan that has a lid over low heat.

  2. Add finely shredded cabbage.

  3. salt and pepper and stir to coat.

  4. Place lid on saucepan and increase heat to medium.

  5. Stir periodically to prevent from catching on the bottom of the pan and even cooking.

  6. When cabbage has reduced it's bulk by about half and starting to look translucent add the lemon juice and stir to coat, replace lid and cook further stirring on a very regular basis to prevent it from catching on the pan.

  7. cabbage is ready when some of the cabbage is dark from the heat of the pan, this adds more flavour.
