My first attempt at searing fish, and it was TASTY! This is an appetizer or tapas-type dish, so you're only supposed to have 1/4 of the tuna each, or one cube of seared tuna. Nevertheless, it is quite tasty!

Recipe Ingredients for Simple Seared Tuna

5 oz tuna steak
1/4 tsp sea salt
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp paprika
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper
1 tsp olive oil

Recipe Directions for Simple Seared Tuna

  1. Combine spices in a mortar and crush to mix. Brush tuna with olive oil and rub with spices.

  2. Heat remaining olive oil over high heat and drop tuna in with tongs. Make sure you have your kitchen fan on!!! After about 1 minute, turn the steak over. Cook each side for approximately 1-2 minutes, but watch carefully so it doesn't burn.

  3. Remove tuna from heat and serve! NOMNOMNOM.
