very easy one pot lentil soup. Good for cold days or just for one cup servings for a snack.

Recipe Ingredients for Simple Lentil Soup

1 lb lentils
8 cups water
1 onion
3 tbsp salt
1 tbsp garlic
1 tsp cumin
1 tsp turmeric
2 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Simple Lentil Soup

  1. rinse lentils

  2. put 8 cups of water in pot to boil

  3. add lentils to water

  4. chop one medium onion

  5. add seasonings

  6. allow to come to a boil

  7. lower heat to medium and simmer for 30 to 40 minutes until lentils are tender

  8. allow to slightly cool before packaging in 1 cup containers

  9. can be kept in refrigerator or frozen
