From De Laurentiis NB: Actually used Romano cheese, not parmesan, but calorie-count would not accept.

Recipe Ingredients for Simple Bolognese

1/4 cup olive oil
1 medium onion, minced
2 garlic cloves, minced
1 celery stalk, minced
1 carrot, peeled and minced
1 lb lean ground beef
28 oz diced tomatoes, pureed
1/4 cup parsley
2 tbsp basil, chopped
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp black pepper
1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Recipe Directions for Simple Bolognese

  1. Heat oil and then add garlic and onion. Cook until tender.

  2. Add celery and carrot and cook.

  3. Add ground beef on high and cook until browned.

  4. Add tomatoes, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper.

  5. Cook for at least 30 minutes on low.

  6. Stir in cheese just before serving.
