This granola is great for a topping. Use 1/4 cup on yogurt, oatmeal or on ice cream instead of the candy toppings.

Recipe Ingredients for Silvia's granola

4 cups regular oats, not instant
1 cup sliced almonds
1/3 cup pine nuts
1/3 cup brown sugar
1/3 cup pure maple syrup (or honey)
3 tablespoons oil

Recipe Directions for Silvia's granola

  1. Preheat oven to 200 degrees.

  2. ? Grease baking sheet with baking spray

  3. ? Combine oats, nuts, and in very large bowl.

  4. ? In a sauce pan heat sweeteners just until melted & pour over oats. Stir very well until sticky & heavy.

  5. ? Bake about 1 hour to 1:15 stirring every 15 minutes. Bake until well browned not burned- watch carefully.

  6. ? Remove from oven, stir and cool in pan. Don't under-bake

  7. After cooled, transfer into a sealed container, enjoy!
