Recipe Ingredients for Shrimp and Veggie gumbo

10 oz frozen okra
1 cup red bell peppers
1 cup green bell peppers
1/2 cup onion
2 clove minced garlic
1/2 cup chopped celery
1 cups squash
3 cups canned tomatoes
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 tablespoon black pepper
1 teaspoon crushed red pepper
2 tablespoons kosher salt
9 oz steamed shrimp
3 cups water

Recipe Directions for Shrimp and Veggie gumbo

  1. dice all veggies to bite size pieces and add to pot

  2. dump water,canned tomatoes and tomato paste in

  3. add 1/2 of the garlc,salt and peppers,

  4. bring to a boil the drop back to low

  5. cook on low heat for at least 1 hr for the flavors to meld,

  6. taste and add addtl salt and pepper to taste

  7. add shrimp- I ususally buy the broken cocktail shrimp , it's cheaper,already cooked and already peeled

  8. this dish freezes well, and is better the longer it cooks

  9. It can also be made in crock pt and left to cook all day

  10. just put all ingredients in the pot and put it on low.

  11. Add the shrimp turm pot to high
