Recipe Ingredients for Shrimp and mushroom linguini with creamy cheese herb sauce

2.33 ounces whole wheat pasta
1 teaspoons olive oil
2 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced
1 tablespoon I can't believe it's not butter (original)
1/2 clove garlic, minced
3/4 ounce philadelphia cream cheese, reduced fat
1 teaspoons cilantro
1 tablespoon scallion
1/8 teaspoon dried basil
2 tablespoons boiling water
2 1/2 ounces cooked shrimp

Recipe Directions for Shrimp and mushroom linguini with creamy cheese herb sauce

  1. The directions below still refer to the original recipe yield of 4 servings.

  2. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add linguini, and cook until tender, about 7 minutes. Drain.

  3. Meanwhile, heat 2 tablespoons butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add mushrooms; cook and stir until tender. Transfer to a plate.

  4. In the same pan, melt 1/2 cup butter with the minced garlic. Stir in the cream cheese, breaking it up with a spoon as it melts. Stir in the parsley and basil.

  5. Simmer for 5 minutes. Mix in boiling water until sauce is smooth.

  6. Stir in cooked shrimp and mushrooms, and heat through.

  7. Toss linguini with shrimp sauce, and serve.
