Flavorful shrimp in a wonderfully creamy, rich sauce. The shrimp and sauce can be made a few hours in advance and refrigerated until ready to bake. You can substitute the shrimp with crab, lobster or scallops. A mix of these shell fish would also be nice. Enjoy!

Recipe Ingredients for Shrimp Imperial

1/4 cup chopped Shallots
1/4 cup, chopped Peppers, Sweet, Red
1/4 cup, diced Celery
2 pieces Garlic Cloves
1 tbsp Salted Butter
1 dash Salt, Table
4 oz Real Mayonnaise
4 oz Sour Cream
3 tsp or 1 packet Mustard, Prepared, Yellow
1 serving Worcestershire Sauce
1/4 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1 tsp Thyme, Fresh
1/2 tsp Paprika
8 serving Sea Queen Jumbo Easy Peel Raw Shrimp

Recipe Directions for Shrimp Imperial

  1. Mince onion, red bell pepper, celery, and garlic.

  2. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add the butter. Once melted, add the celery, bell pepper and onions. Cook for 2-3 minutes.

  3. Add the shrimp and garlic. Cook for 3-4 minutes or until shrimp just turn pink (do not over cook). Stir frequently. Remove from heat and add a pinch of salt. Toss. Let cool.

  4. In a small bowl, mix together the mayonnaise, sour cream, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, pepper, thyme and lemon juice.

  5. To assemble, divide shrimp into 4 ramekin (or gratin dishes or large scallop shells). Spoon the mayonnaise mixture over each dish and sprinkly with a dash of paprika.

  6. Place ramekins on cookie sheet and bake in 400 F oven for about 15 minutes or until bubbling and starting to brown. (You can also layer the shrimp in a baking dish and top with the mayo mixture. It will need to be baked a little longer.)
