Shoyu Chicken is Hawaii's answer to teriyaki chicken. Chicken thigh meat is marinated in a sweet, spicy soy sauce marinade, then grilled and served with rice.

Recipe Ingredients for Shoyu Chicken

8 serving Soy Sauce
24 serving Hannaford Dark Brown Sugar
0.5 cup (8 fl oz) Water
2 clove Garlic
1.5 tsp Ginger Root
1.5 tsp Ground Black Pepper
1.5 tsp Oregano, Ground
0.5 tsp Spices Crushed Red Peppers
2 serving Cayenne Pepper
0.5 tsp Paprika
32 oz Chicken, Thigh, Meat Only

Recipe Directions for Shoyu Chicken

  1. Whisk together all ingredient except chicken in a large glass or ceramic bowl. Add the chicken thighs, and toss to evenly coat. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and marinate the chicken in the refrigerator for at least an hour.

  2. Preheat grill for medium heat and lightly oil the grate.

  3. Remove thighs from marinade. Discard the remaining marinade. Grill about 15min on each side.

  4. Can also bake in over at 350 for 35 min.
