Recipe Ingredients for Shortcrust pastry

1 cup all purpose flour
3 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon canola oil
1/2 tsp salt
1 pinch of sugar
3/10 cup of water

Recipe Directions for Shortcrust pastry

  1. Chill canola oil in the freezer for 30 mins.

  2. Mix flour with the salt and sugar.

  3. Chop up the butter, which should be chilled.

  4. Add the butter and oil to the flour mixture and process quickly until lightly combined.

  5. Add the water, which should be icy cold, to the flour and mix quickly.

  6. Turn onto a board and briefly shape into a ball and cover with cling film. Refrigerate for 2 hrs before use.

  7. This pastry dough can be frozen for up to a year.
