Grandma's recipe --- Can use margarine instead of butter --- Mom usually doubles it --- may chill dough in fridge first

Recipe Ingredients for Shortbread

1/2 cup cornstarch
1/2 cup icing sugar
1 cup butter, room temperature
1 cup all-purpose flour, sifted

Recipe Directions for Shortbread

  1. 1. Sift together cornstarch, icing sugar and add flour into bowl

  2. 2. Blend butter and dry ingredients with a spoon until a soft doubh is formed

  3. 3. shape into balls about 1inch in diameter

  4. 4. Place on ungreased cookie sheet 1 inch apart

  5. 5. Flatten with lightly floured fork

  6. 6. Bake at 300F for 20-25 minutes
