A Sheppard's pie using ground turkey rather than ground lamb, also using all organic ingredients.

Recipe Ingredients for Sheppards Pie with Turkey

1 lb ground turkey breast
1 tsp thyme
3 tsp kosher salt
1/3 cup minced red onion
1/2 cup chicken broth
2 tbs extra virgin olive oil
1 tsp black pepper
2 tbs flour
1/4 cup water
2 tsp garlic powder
6 medium potatoes
1/4 cup 1 % milk
2 tbs butter
1 tsp kosher salt
1 tsp black pepper

Recipe Directions for Sheppards Pie with Turkey

  1. Set oven to 400 degrees.

  2. Peel the potatoes and cut into squares, boil until ready to mash.

  3. In a skillet combine the EVOO, ground turkey, the spices listed before the Potatoes and chicken broth, cook turkey through, then add water and flour. cook for another few minutes.

  4. Mash the potatoes while the turkey continues to cook on LOW, add the ingredients listed under the Potatoes to the mash.

  5. Using a pie pan or stone ware, add the cooked turkey into the bottom, then dollup the mashed potatoes (starting with the outer edge, and continue inward. Using a spoon, even out the top and make sure it is completely covered. Bake in the oven for 45 minutes (or until top is slightly browned).
