A small deviation using ground turkey and TVP.

Recipe Ingredients for Shepherd's Pie Turkey

1 pound ground turkey
1/4 cup TVP
3/4 chopped onion
1 1/2 cups gravy, Heinz Home Style Savory Brown Gravy
2 teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
1 1/2 cups frozen peas
2 cups mashed potatoes
1/2 cup fat free sour cream
3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

Recipe Directions for Shepherd's Pie Turkey

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Cook the ground turkey and onion in a medium skillet over medium-high heat until meat is done and onion is tender, about 5 minutes. Drain the mixture and return to the skillet.

  3. Add the gravy, peas, Worcestershire sauce, and reconstituted TVP and simmer on medium-low heat for 2 minutes.

  4. Meanwhile combine leftover/prepared mashed potatoes with sour cream.

  5. Pour meat mixture into a 9x13 pan. Spread mashed potato mixture over the meat mixture and top with the grated cheese.

  6. Bake for 30 minutes until heated through.

  7. Makes 6 servings.
