One portion Shepherds pie, with onion and carrot, no beans

Recipe Ingredients for Shepherds Pie

1/2 onion
1 potato, mashed
1 carrot
1 tbsp milk
10 g butter
1 tbsp oil
75 g beef, minced

Recipe Directions for Shepherds Pie

  1. Chop and boil potato in a pan.

  2. Meanwhile, peel and slice carrot, and slice onion.

  3. Put oil in saucepan, and heat up.

  4. Preheat oven.

  5. When hot, add onion and carrot.

  6. Mix until onion is soft and almost see-through.

  7. Then add mince and continue to stir, until mince is browned.

  8. Leave to simmer for 10mins, or until carrot is cooked.

  9. The potato should now be cooked; drain and mash, adding the milk and butter to do so.

  10. Put the mince mixture in a baking tin, and cover with the mash potato.

  11. Put the tin in the oven for 15mins.

  12. Grate cheese and add to the top.

  13. Replace in oven, until cheese has melted and top is browned.
