Recipe Ingredients for Shepherd's Pie

1 lb 95% lean ground beef
3 oz corn
3 oz peas
3 oz carrots
8 oz green beans
2 1/4 cups milk
8 tbsp flour
3 Russet potatoes
2 cloves garlic, minced
4 tsp salt
1 Pepper to taste

Recipe Directions for Shepherd's Pie

  1. Preheat oven to 350.

  2. Prepare potatoes for to be mashed with two cloves of minced garlic in water. Beat in 1/4 cup milk and (optional butter) salt/pepper to taste.

  3. Brown ground beef. Drain beef and set aside.

  4. In the same pan that beef was cooked in, combine four and remaining milk (and salt, pepper to taste) to make a gravy. Cook until it bubbles, then simmer for 2-3 minutes.

  5. In a medium casserole dish, combine beef and vegetables, then add gravy and mix.

  6. Put mashed potatoes as top layer and smooth to cover.

  7. Bake for 30 minutes, or until top is slightly browned.

  8. Cool and serve.
