Fantastic comfort food - especially for those of us who love REAL mashed potatoes.

Recipe Ingredients for Shepherd/Country Pie

7 medium Yukon gold potatoes
1/4 cup butter
1/4 cup cream
1 cup frozen corn
1 lb extra lean ground turkey
1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
2 cups gravy, fat free
1/4 cup shredded cheese, low fat (optional)

Recipe Directions for Shepherd/Country Pie

  1. Chop potatoes into 1" cubes, drop into pot and fill up with water until potatoes are completely covered. Boil for 10-15 minutes until potatoes are just past fork tender.

  2. Brown ground turkey in a deeper saucepan until pink is gone, turn heat down and add the corn, gravy and Worcestershire sauce. Let it simmer gently until everything else is ready.

  3. Set oven to 400F.

  4. While potatoes are boiling, melt butter in a dish and warm up cream in the microwave or in saucepan.

  5. Drain and mash potatoes with hand masher. Add all the cream and butter, mix together fully.

  6. Add the meat mixture into the bottom of casserole dish.

  7. Put dollops of mashed potatoes on top of the meat mixture and smooth out until fully covered.

  8. Sprinkle cheese on top (optional).

  9. Bake for about 10 minutes (just until everything sets together and cheese crusts)
